Microcrystalline wax

What is microcrystalline wax?

Wax that is solid at room temperature. It has a carbon number distribution of about 30 to 60 and a molecular weight of about 500 to 800. It generally has a higher melting point than paraffin wax. It is characteristically microcrystalline due to the large amount of small crystalline isoparaffins and cycloparaffins.
We use our original manufacturing technology to manufacture and sell a wide range of highly refined grades in the Hi-Mic series.

How to use

Microcrystalline wax has excellent characteristics in moisture resistance, water resistance, heat resistance, and flexibility, and was first used in large quantities as a moisture-proof material for military supplies. Since then, it has come to be used in a wide range of applications, including waterproofing and moisture-proofing of paper products, laminated paper, packaging cardboard, oil and fat resistance, rubber compounding agents, electrical insulating materials, printing ink compounding agents, raw materials for crayons, glazing agents, pharmaceutical products, coating agents, wax compounding agents, radiation moderating materials, raw materials for candles, dental and medical supplies raw materials, and adhesive materials.
It is also characterized by its ability to prevent liquid oil from separating and sweating when mixed with liquid oil, and is widely used as an oil-phase raw material for cosmetics such as creams and lipsticks.
