Chemical products

What are Chemical products?

At Nippon Seiro, we manufacture a variety of waxes by utilizing chemical reactions. We call the waxes "chemical products." Representative examples include paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax, petrolatum, and other air oxides. It is generally difficult to cause chemical reactions involving saturated hydrocarbons because they are single-bonded, covalent, and non-polar. However, we use an original process to manufacture a variety of oxidized waxes with different melting points, degrees of denaturation, and reaction selectivity.

Alpha olefin derivatives

Alpha olefins are hydrocarbons with a double bond at the end of the molecule. They exhibit different reactivity from saturated hydrocarbons such as paraffin wax. We combine the unique reactivity of alpha olefins with our original technology to manufacture a variety of oxidized waxes with different melting points, degrees of denaturation, and reaction selectivity. We also manufacture urethane-type waxes using these oxidized waxes as raw materials. Furthermore, we carry out polymerization reactions of alpha olefins to manufacture a variety of polymerized waxes with different melting points and degrees of polymerization.

How to use

Oxidized waxes have various applications such as rust prevention, lubricants, ink, concrete, batteries, hot melts, stationery, polish, lost wax, processed paper, oils, asphalt, and wax modification, depending on their melting point, degree of denaturation, and reaction selectivity. Oxidized waxes have polar groups such as fatty acids, esters, and alcohols, and their characteristics including mixing with base materials, coating film formation, and reactivity exhibit different behavior from those of saturated hydrocarbons. These characteristics are utilized in various applications.
